Ballarat is a city with a lot of markets!

There are markets for farmers, markets for produce, markets for swapping and markets for each individual town.

As well as being a great place to experience the local organic offerings, the markets are also a great way to get out and about and see this beautiful region.

Here is a rundown of just a few more central markets that are guaranteed to add some tasty fun to your weekend:

Ballarat Market was formerly known as the Trash & Trivia Market and is held every Sunday, from 8am-1pm. The market features a massive variety of stalls and something to interest everyone. Sample beautiful fresh produce from local producers and indulge in craft baked goods, homemade goodies and desserts/snacks you didn’t even know existed!

Lakeside Farmers Market is held on the second and fourth Saturday of every month from 9am-1pm and prides itself on being a traditional farmers market, with an array of ‘Victorian only’ produce on offer.

BECS Market or the Ballarat East Community Shed market is held on the second Saturday of each month, from 9am-1pm and is a destination for buying or selling food, bric-a-brac, books and pre-loved items.

So get researching the local market trail and fill your weekends with the wonderful local foods, handmade wares and products and enjoy a drive around this beautiful region while you’re at it!
